Finding a pen friend is a fun way to meet people, I started making pen friends via snail mail when I was in high school, however using emails to make "pen friends" is much more convenient.

Here's a definition from wikipedia.com:

Most people find using messengers/skype, however when your listed contacts aren't online you may like to use a chat site to talk with a complete stranger, some chat sites also invite guests who specialise in certain areas, which could make your chat experience more valuable.

    Forums are great for exchanging information, some forums specialise in helping people get to know one another.

    • Polyglot - forum - Has general and learn a language forums.
    • ExpatForum.com is a great place to meet others from overseas, such as fellow people from your own country, the link I have here links to a Sydney specific ad on the forum, you can make your own ad too.

    You may think this isn't very relevent, however I have a few good friends doing this, it usually happens out of interest in the game more than searching for a friend, and if you play games that you are interested in, then you know you have at least one thing in common (^-^).


    Most games have inbuild chat, so it's quite easy to meet people you are having a good challenge with.
